Volunteer Work
One of the most frequent questions we get is, "What is music therapy?"
We get it - despite our AMTA definition, it can be hard to visualize what music therapy can look like - especially because of its individualized nature. Luckily, we're here to offer a bit of a look into our world!
If you are a high schooler interested in learning more about what Music Therapy is and what it looks like, consider participating in Bee You Music Therapy's Volunteer Program!
What It Takes to Be A Volunteer

3 or 6 Month Commitment
Getting a better understanding of music therapy takes time - which is why we recommend committing for 3 or 6 months, consisting of 2 hours weekly (1 session + 1 consultation a week)
Pass Clearance
Bee You Music Therapy works alongside many individuals who are immunocompromised and/ or are a part of marginalized and vulnerable populations. You will be required to have current vaccinations, boosters, asked to have liability coverage and adhere to confidentiality to best support them in their therapeutic journeys.
Observing Board Certified Music Therapists
You will be working alongside a board certified music therapists - each with their own unique skills and styles throughout the volunteer cycle - who can highlight the nuances of our field and what sets it apart from other music adjacent careers.
