About Bee You Music Therapy

I believe it takes a community to support those in need and that embracing our diversity only makes the results stronger.

Bees represent this concept remarkably well; when we collaborate on important work, we can produce an outcome that is sweet and beneficial, not just for ourselves, but for many across the world. However, achieving this also requires a level of authenticity and courage. And what better way to foster authenticity and courage than through music therapy?

With that in mind, it just made sense to form Bee You Music Therapy with this purpose: To enhance lives through the transformative power of music therapy and empower individuals to live authentically and fully - just as nature does thanks to our buzzworthy bee friends. This initiative draws inspiration from my late friend Henry Setton's commitment to normalizing living in his own authenticity. I made sure to weave my identity as well - a joyfully introverted, queer, Black woman who wants to proclaim from every microphone that you too are worthy and deserving of living a fulfilling life, even if the road you take isn't the typical one.

What started as a solo private practice has now wonderfully blossomed to include multiple Board Certified Music Therapists - each one just as skilled and committed to the cause!

Bee You Music Therapy Aligns Itself With The Following Core Values

  • Empowerment: We believe in empowering individuals to discover their true selves and achieve their fullest potential through music therapy.

  • Compassion: We approach every interaction with empathy, respect, and a deep understanding of each individual's unique journey.

  • Innovation: We continuously explore new approaches and techniques in music therapy to evolve and improve our services.

  • Collaboration: We foster partnerships with clients, families, caregivers, and communities to create a supportive network for holistic healing.

  • Integrity: We operate with honesty, transparency, and ethical conduct in all aspects of our practice and relationships.

  • Advocacy: We advocate for the recognition and integration of music therapy in healthcare and wellness practices, promoting its benefits for individuals and society. We also advocate for the proper care and support of marginalized and underrepresented identities through our work within music therapy.

  • Inclusivity: We embrace diversity and inclusivity, celebrating the richness of experiences and perspectives within our community.

Our Locations

Bee You Music Therapy is based in San Francisco, CA.

However, our outreach is MUCH broader than just our city by the Bay. Our current outreach is as far out as about an hour in each direction! If you're looking for services, we can likely bring them to you wherever you're at!

No worries if you're farther out - we offer virtual services too! :)
