Dementia and Alzheimer's

Music therapy is highly beneficial for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease, as it can stimulate memory, improve mood, and reduce agitation. Familiar music often triggers emotional responses and memories even in the later stages of the disease, helping individuals reconnect with their sense of identity and communicate when verbal skills decline. Music therapy can also promote social interaction, reduce anxiety, and support daily routines through structured musical activities like singing, listening, and movement. Sessions are tailored to the individual's preferences and abilities, making music a comforting and therapeutic tool in dementia care.

"My mom loves music and was in the civic choir for over 30 years. As her Dementia diagnosis progressed, we noticed mom stopped talking and singing with us and dad like she used to. Since working with you, mom has been talking with us more, and even managed to sing for her own birthday with her family and friends."
